Amsterdam – Afgelopen zondag speelde hij zijn laatste wedstrijd voor het eerste van de Amsterdam Lions. Kevin Tastet, El Tormento voor velen, zal terugkeren naar zijn thuisland Amerika, omdat zijn vrouw een nieuwe baan heeft gevonden binnen het Nike concern. De redactie van amsterdamlacrosse.nl zocht Kevin op voor een afscheidsinterview. Een interview over het verleden, over zijn dromen, de toekomst, de mooiste momenten, het afscheid en de betekenis van zijn bijnaam.
Vraag: Kevin, first of all. Your nickname EL TORMENTO, why this name?
I used to be a cage fighter back in Mexico. I was given the nickname El Tormento because of my habit of singing show tunes to my opponents while having them in a headlock.
Vraag: last Sunday you played your last game for the Lions. How did it go?
I did an excellent job demonstrating how easy it is to defend a player who lacks quickness.
Vraag: what is the most important thing you are going to remember? The championship? The team?
What I’ll remember most (even though it is a blurry memory) is the Saturday evening party during the lowlands tournament 2009.
Vraag: what are going to miss the most?
Hmmm… so many things… I’ll definitely miss reading Mac’s magazines on the way to the games.
Vraag: the Amsterdam Lions team is known for being a team with social retards, how did you adapt during the years?
I didn’t notice.
Vraag: the rumor goes you cried after the championship last year. Why so emotional? Was this a special championship?
It was a special championship. After losing to them the year before… oh wait, that was you all, not me.
Vraag: Do you have any tips for the players and coach of the Lions?
