The Wunze trip to Groningen
Lions, we had a problem. A game was planned on the day after Queensday in Groningen, against Groningen at 11.00am. Do the math and the answer you will get is that no one was looking forward to getting up at 6.30 and driving to Groningen so we came up with a solution: it’s BangBus&Night time.
The adventure started at 7pm at the Nassauplein on Queensday; as usual, our American friend Jared arrived ‘on time’ as well: 8.30pm. When we arrived in Groningen at the Mercure Hotel we all went to our rooms after Arttu finally managed to fill out his form, it had ‘’so many questions’’. Already severely intoxicated from the trip to Groningen, we freshened up a little and went to town. The night started, and ended, in ‘’De Drie Gezusters’’. This is probably the worst bar in Groningen and, judging by the people that came there, also the bar with the biggest slut:man ratio. However, as we all know, alcohol can make the worst bar feel like the best, and so it happened. With a more than average amount of beer and/or weed some interesting things happened.
We met a Greek girl, that lived in Germany, and spoke French. What a combo. After she tried to hook up with me she left the bar with her boyfriend (read: Pauly D). Then, Donny decided to prove why he is our one and only Lions Model. He picked up a girl that bent over the second you talked to her and funnily enough while she was grinding her body on Donny she was touching someone else genitalia at the same time. Then, about an h
our later, our Greek German French girl came back into the bar but now without her boyfriend. This time she decided to head for Donny, and this time she did get lucky. She nearly bit his lips off in an intense make-out session. At about 4am the bar closed and we went back to the hotel, however, this time there were 11 of us and we only arrived with 9.
As you can guess by now, the Greek chick came along with her Russian friend (from now on referred to as: ‘’The Cockblocker’’). Just when an extra room was about to booked, the Cockblocker decided to honor her name. She and her Greek friend got into a fight which, after 45minutes, resulted in Donny going to bed on his own. However, this did not happen after the Cockblocker had threatened to call the police if her Greek friend was going to stay here. So in the end, everybody got a good night sleep.
The next morning it was tough waking upwith fifty elephants running around in our heads so we decided to get breakfast (pasta carbonara, not a good idea) and head to the game. Arriving at 11.55am sharp, playing at 12, we followed Jelle’s example and decided to grab Groningen by the balls (of course not literally speaking, get your mind out of the gutter) which
resulted in a comfortable 18-2 win and the first goal in Big Sexy’s career! On our way back we paid a tribute to Donny and the ballgrabber on the Afsluitdijk (picture shows her signature dancemove) and we all got home safely and alive. What a great weekend it was and thank you Shiraz and Big Sexy for arranging the hotel and driving the BangBus!
